We are pleased to announce that we are now compiling our research for Part 2 of the Clan Cameron Reference Guide Booklet.
Donald Cameron: A Clan Cameron Mystery Solved
In Part 1, we shared our research journey based on the biography of Joan McPherson. At that time, working with limited evidence, we concluded by process of elimination that Donald’s father was Ludovick Cameron. This was based on the assumption that Donald’s father was a brother of John Cameron.
In Part 2, we move from assumption to evidence.
There is a great deal of confusion on the internet today regarding John McPherson and Mary Cameron of Three Rivers. Many have incorrectly concluded that Mary was the daughter of Mary Peattie and James Cameron.
This is not true.
This booklet is designed to disintegrate that confusion. We have spent years diligently searching and recording details to unveil who these individuals actually were. We have taken every part of Joan McPherson’s biography and found the historical records to prove that every word of her story was true.
By compiling this research, we will provide the documented details on:
- The Journey from Scotland: His role at Culloden and his path to France.
- The Capture: The facts behind how he was taken and by whom.
- A New Life in Quebec: His specific home and life in the city.
- Sacrifice and Reality: The action at Sault-au-Matelot, the burning of his home, and the death of his ten-year-old son.
- The Final Record: His will and his resting place.
This booklet will be particularly vital for the descendants of Andrew McPherson and Ikwesens Pinesi Okijiikokwe. We know there are many people genuinely searching for the truth about Mary’s father and John’s family. We are now piecing together the evidence to give you the answers that speculation cannot provide.
Stay tuned as we finalize the compilation of these records. The truth is coming.
